On learning CS

Some classes teach you syntax. The good ones teach you how to think when you're stuck.

The most useful habit I've picked up so far is writing out the problem in plain English before touching a keyboard. It sounds obvious, but skipping it is how I've burned the most hours on nothing.

I'll keep adding to this post as the semester goes on. Consider it a living notebook rather than a polished essay.
